A Craigslist “Steal” Isn’t Always a Deal!

We’ve been looking for a microwave hutch since our recent move. I’ve been fairly selective about what it should look like; however, the perfect one wasn’t appearing on Craigslist as soon as I was wanting it to. Then on Black Friday afternoon we noticed a white hutch on Craigslist that looked like it had potential for the small vacant space beside our fridge. Initially, when I saw the hutch I wasn’t thrilled with all of its decorative features; however, I decided it would probably be workable. I also knew purchasing a microwave hutch would result in more counter top space in our kitchen. Certainly, this was a win-win situation. Right? Eric called the person who had listed it and asked if we could come yet that afternoon to pick it up.

Reflections on This Past Thanksgiving Season

A Birthday Tribute to my Mom

My dear mother is celebrating her 55th birthday today.

She will be at home attending to Yoder’s Store so the rest of the family can help Eric and I move. The guys will be packing our furniture and appliances on a large trailer. We’ll then head for our little home in the country where all the unpacking can begin! My kind mother will then likely come over to help me sort through some of the boxes and make sense out of all the chaos.

Life Lessons from Drinking Tea

Chilly describes these last couple of nights; I’m grateful for our warm, cozy apartment.

During this time of year there’s nothing quite like a steaming cup of Java or tea to warm you.  Additionally, there is something to be said for sipping a beverage with a friend. The warmth penetrates your heart. I’ve been blessed with several recent opportunities to share with friends in this way. Time with others is a gift.
